Why Register Your Child for the Veggie Chase?
If you (or your child) have never participated in a walk/run event like this, then this is the one for you! You don't need to be an avid runner or walker, but you will need the desire to have fun!
- Lots of extras for Participants and First-time Runners & Walkers! Get your kids out of the house and away from the television on a spectacular Sunday morning!
- Kids Chase "Veggies" (adults in costume) to win cool prizes (5K and 2K)
- Awards: In addition to the huge sense of accomplishment kids will feel for taking on a challenge, All Kids who finish will receive a medal or ribbon (age 5 and under) as well as The Top Five Girls and Boys in two year age groups in the 5k.
- We encourage fit kids (Ages 6 and above) to challenge themselves by taking on the 5K (3.1 Miles) or Mile event. Using the Run/Walk technique, a fit kid or adult can compete in the 5K event in approximately 30-45 minutes. The sense of accomplishment will be awesome! The top five girls and boys in the 5K event will receive an award plaque.

- Beautiful racecourse: The Veggie Chase starts at Hagan Park in Rancho Cordova and weaves through Soil Born Farms' American River Ranch and the American River Parkway! This is a great opportunity for you and your child to have fun and experience Sacramento's natural beauty.
