WHY the Veggie Chase for YOUR Child:

If you (or your child) have never participated in a walk/run event like this, then THIS ONE IS FOR YOU! You don't need to be an avid runner/walker, but you will need the desire to participate in the MOST FUN event our community has seen in a long time!
- Lot's of Extras for Participants and First-time Runner/Walkers!!! Get your kids out of the house and away from the television on a spectacular Sunday morning on October 12th!
- Kids Chase "Veggies" (adults in costume) to WIN cool prizes (5K and Mile)
- Awards: The Kaiser Permanente "Veggie Chase 5K and Kid's Runs" includes the MOST Awards, Prizes, "Veggies"...Not to mention a huge sense of accomplishment and challenge for all kids! We encourage fit kids (Ages 6 and above) to challenge themselves by taking on the 5K - (3.1 Miles) or Mile event. Using the Run/Walk technique, a fit kid or adult can compete in the 5K event in approximately 30-45 minutes. The sense of accomplishment will be awesome! There are Award Plaques for the top five boys and girls in the 5K event, however, ALL children finishers for all events (Ages 6 and Under, 7 - 9, 9 - 10, 11 - 12, 13 - 14, and 15 - 17), will also receive awards for taking on an event and finishing!
- Goody Bags, commemorative T-Shirts... Note: T-Shirts will be provided for the first 400 kids (pre-registered for the 5K or Mile Run/Walk), the first 150 Teens (pre-registered for the 5K event), and the first 100 "first-time" Adults (pre-registerd for the 5K event). Awesome Post-Race Food!
- Beautiful Course at Hagan park, Rancho Cordova - through Soil Barn and the American River Parkway! Some of the land you will be running/walking isn't normally available for the average park visitor to experience! An awesome opportunity to see nature at its FINEST with your child - (not to mention, several Veggies along the way!)
